Join us on Friday, October 6, at 18:00 for an unforgettable evening at Oseredok, where we proudly present Brian Cherwick, an internationally famous multi-instrumentalist. With an impressive performance history spanning North America, Europe, and the Caribbean, Brian has dazzled audiences as a solo artist and leader of the award-winning speed-folk ensemble Kubasonics.

Brian Cherwick’s solo showcase is a captivating journey into the rich tapestry of Ukrainian folk music. He skillfully wields over 30 traditional string, wind, and percussion instruments, offering diverse melodies. From the epic ballads of blind bards to the haunting shepherd tunes of the Carpathian mountains, from ancient ritual melodies to the unique sounds of Ukrainian music as it evolved on the Canadian Prairies, this performance promises to be a musical odyssey.

Among the featured instruments are the enchanting kobza (plucked lute), the mesmerizing lira (hurdy-gurdy), the rhythmic tsymbaly (hammered dulcimer), the evocative duda (goatskin bagpipe), and a fascinating array of folk flutes and percussion instruments. Brian’s presentation combines entertainment with education, infused with his trademark humour.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind musical experience that transcends borders and centuries as Brian Cherwick transports you through the soul-stirring sounds of Ukrainian folk music.
